Hoodie Tech Pack Template
A hoodie tech pack is the file a factory sews your hoodie from: front and back flat sketches, the body fabric and GSM, rib and drawcord trims, a graded size chart with tolerances, hood and kangaroo pocket details, artwork placement, Pantone colors, labels and the quantity per size.
Use these front and back flat sketches as a starting point for your own. New to tech packs? Start with our free tech pack guide or look up a term in the glossary.
Hoodie styles we make
We sew 3 styles of this garment: pullover, zip-up and sleeveless. Prices are for 100 blank pieces in 380gsm 100% cotton loopback French terry.
Zip-up
Sleeveless
“On file” counts the designs we have already sewn in that style, so there is a pattern to start from. “Quoted” means we price that style by hand.
What goes in a hoodie tech pack
A hoodie tech pack has ten parts, from the cover page to the sign-off page; here is what each part should say for a hoodie.
- Cover page: Brand name, style number, tech pack number and date, so every sample and bulk carton can be traced back to this file.
- Flat sketches: Front and back views showing the hood shape, drawcord exits, kangaroo pocket, cuffs and hem rib.
- Fabric and trims (BOM): Body fabric with composition and GSM (for example 380gsm cotton French terry), rib for cuffs and hem, drawcord and tips, eyelets, and thread color.
- Size chart and tolerances: All points of measure for XS to 3XL, including hood height, hood width, pocket size and drawcord length, each with its tolerance.
- Artwork placement: Position and size in cm of each logo on the chest, back, sleeve or hood, and the method for each.
- Colors: Pantone TCX codes for the body, trims, thread and every artwork color.
- Labels and packaging: Neck label, care label with fiber content and wash instructions, hang tag, and folding and polybag instructions.
- Construction notes: Single or double-layer hood, pocket stitching, cover-stitch seams, and whether the inside is loopback or brushed.
- Quantity and size breakdown: Pieces per color and per size. Custom orders start at 100 pcs per style and per color; stock-based orders from 50 pcs.
- Notes and sign-off: Anything not covered above, a revision history, and a sign-off line where you approve the file before bulk production.

Decoration add-ons (per garment, 100 pcs)
Decoration adds from +$0.70 for a small screen print to +$4.40 for a large digital print, per garment, per position at 100 pcs, on top of the blank price.
| Decoration | Add per garment |
|---|---|
| Screen print, small (chest logo) | +$0.70 |
| Screen print, large (full front or back) | +$2.00 |
| Embroidery, small (chest logo) | +$1.20 |
| Embroidery, large (front or back) | +$3.70 |
| Digital print, large (full-color artwork) | +$4.40 |
Each print or embroidery position is priced separately, so a chest logo plus a back print counts as two add-ons.
Fabric & GSM options
For hoodies you can choose French terry (loopback), brushed fleece, polar fleece, air-layer knit, brushed jersey or interlock, from 300 gsm up to 450+ gsm. The table shows the blank price per piece at 100 pcs for each weight band. Each band starts at the price of its cheapest fabric type, so a heavier band can start lower.
| Fabric weight | Fabric types | 100 pcs, blank (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| 300–349 gsm | French terry (loopback), Brushed fleece, Polar fleece, Air-layer knit | $12.10–$19.90 |
| 350–399 gsm | French terry (loopback), Brushed fleece, Polar fleece, Air-layer knit, Brushed jersey | $14.40–$21.90 |
| 400–449 gsm | French terry (loopback), Brushed fleece, Brushed jersey, Interlock | $15.10–$23.60 |
| 450+ gsm | French terry (loopback), Brushed fleece | $17.80–$24.80 |
GSM is grams per square meter: the higher the number, the heavier and warmer the fabric.

Hoodie tech pack FAQ
How much does it cost to make 100 custom hoodies?
A blank hoodie in 380gsm 100% cotton loopback French terry costs $16.80–$20.90 per piece at 100 pcs, so about $1,680–$2,090 for 100 hoodies before decoration, shipping and duties. Decoration such as a print or embroidery is added per garment, per position; see the add-on table above.
What is the minimum order?
Custom orders start at 100 pcs per style and per color. Sizes can be split inside a color. Stock-based orders, made from our ready blank styles with your decoration, start at 50 pcs.
How long does production take?
Sampling takes 3–7 days, and bulk production takes 7–20 working days after sample approval, depending on order size, fabric and decoration.
What GSM should I choose for a hoodie?
Choose 300–349 gsm for a lighter hoodie you can layer, 350–399 gsm for an all-season hoodie, and 400–449 gsm or 450+ gsm for a heavyweight hoodie with a structured hood. Our standard hoodie fabric is 380gsm 100% cotton loopback French terry.
What size chart and tolerances do you use?
We start from the graded XS to 3XL chart on this page, base size M, measured flat with the garment laid on a table. Every point of measure has its own tolerance, and washed garments get wider tolerances. We confirm final measurements on your fit sample.
