T-Shirt Tech Pack Template
A T-shirt tech pack tells the factory exactly how to make your tee: front and back flat sketches, the body fabric and its GSM, the neck rib, a graded size chart with tolerances, artwork placement, Pantone colors, labels and the quantity per size.
Use these front and back flat sketches as a starting point for your own. New to tech packs? Start with our free tech pack guide or look up a term in the glossary.
T-shirt styles we make
We sew 4 styles of this garment: short sleeve, long sleeve, tank top and cropped. Prices are for 100 blank pieces in 235gsm combed cotton double-yarn jersey.
Long sleeve
Tank top
Cropped
“On file” counts the designs we have already sewn in that style, so there is a pattern to start from. “Quoted” means we price that style by hand.
What goes in a T-shirt tech pack
A T-shirt tech pack has ten parts, from the cover page to the sign-off page; here is what each part should say for a T-shirt.
- Cover page: Brand name, style number, tech pack number and date, so every sample and bulk carton can be traced back to this file.
- Flat sketches: Front and back views showing the neckline, shoulder line (set-in or drop shoulder), sleeve length and hem.
- Fabric and trims (BOM): Body fabric with composition and GSM (for example 235gsm combed cotton jersey), neck rib, neck tape and thread color.
- Size chart and tolerances: Every point of measure for XS to 3XL, each with its tolerance. Say whether you want a regular fit or an oversized, drop-shoulder fit: they use different charts.
- Artwork placement: Position of each print measured from a fixed point such as the neck seam or high point shoulder, its width and height in cm, and the method (screen, digital or embroidery).
- Colors: Pantone TCX codes for the body, trims, thread and every artwork color.
- Labels and packaging: Neck label, care label with fiber content and wash instructions, hang tag, and folding and polybag instructions.
- Construction notes: Neck rib height, shoulder tape, cover-stitch at the sleeve and bottom hem, and any garment wash.
- Quantity and size breakdown: Pieces per color and per size. Custom orders start at 100 pcs per style and per color; stock-based orders from 50 pcs.
- Notes and sign-off: Anything not covered above, a revision history, and a sign-off line where you approve the file before bulk production.

Price per piece
A blank T-shirt costs $6.70–$8.80 per piece at 100 pcs, $6.10–$8.20 at 200 pcs and $5.80–$7.90 at 300 pcs, in USD before shipping and duties.
| Quantity | Price per piece (USD) |
|---|---|
| 100 pcs | $6.70–$8.80 |
| 200 pcs | $6.10–$8.20 |
| 300 pcs | $5.80–$7.90 |

Decoration add-ons (per garment, 100 pcs)
Decoration adds from +$0.70 for a small screen print to +$4.40 for a large digital print, per garment, per position at 100 pcs, on top of the blank price.
| Decoration | Add per garment |
|---|---|
| Screen print, small (chest logo) | +$0.70 |
| Screen print, large (full front or back) | +$2.00 |
| Embroidery, small (chest logo) | +$1.20 |
| Embroidery, large (front or back) | +$3.70 |
| Digital print, large (full-color artwork) | +$4.40 |
Each print or embroidery position is priced separately, so a chest logo plus a back print counts as two add-ons.
Fabric & GSM options
For T-shirts you can choose single jersey, jacquard knit, interlock, brushed jersey or rib knit, from 160 gsm up to 300 gsm. The table shows the blank price per piece at 100 pcs for each weight band. Each band starts at the price of its cheapest fabric type, so a heavier band can start lower.
| Fabric weight | Fabric types | 100 pcs, blank (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| 160–199 gsm | Single jersey, Jacquard knit | $5.50–$8.60 |
| 200–239 gsm | Single jersey, Interlock, Jacquard knit, Brushed jersey, Rib knit | $6.00–$10.10 |
| 240–269 gsm | Single jersey, Jacquard knit, Brushed jersey, Rib knit | $5.90–$10.80 |
| 270–300 gsm | Single jersey, Interlock, Jacquard knit, Brushed jersey, Rib knit | $5.90–$11.70 |
GSM is grams per square meter: the higher the number, the heavier and warmer the fabric.

T-shirt tech pack FAQ
How much does it cost to make 100 custom T-shirts?
A blank T-shirt in 235gsm combed cotton double-yarn jersey costs $6.70–$8.80 per piece at 100 pcs, so about $670–$880 for 100 T-shirts before decoration, shipping and duties. Decoration such as a print or embroidery is added per garment, per position; see the add-on table above.
What is the minimum order?
Custom orders start at 100 pcs per style and per color. Sizes can be split inside a color. Stock-based orders, made from our ready blank styles with your decoration, start at 50 pcs.
How long does production take?
Sampling takes 3–7 days, and bulk production takes 7–20 working days after sample approval, depending on order size, fabric and decoration.
What GSM should I choose for a T-shirt?
Choose 160–199 gsm for a light everyday T-shirt, 200–239 gsm for a solid mid-weight tee, and 240–269 gsm or 270–300 gsm for a heavyweight streetwear tee that holds its shape. Our standard T-shirt fabric is 235gsm combed cotton double-yarn jersey.
What size chart and tolerances do you use?
We start from the graded XS to 3XL charts on this page, base size M, measured flat with the garment laid on a table. Every point of measure has its own tolerance, and washed garments get wider tolerances. We confirm final measurements on your fit sample.
